Christian Athlete Mothers: How to Cultivate Healthy Athletes and Coaches for Christ

Christian Athlete Mothers: How to Cultivate Healthy Athletes and Coaches for Christ

Are you raising healthy Christian athletes and coaches?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

And highest blessings to all of our mothers out there.

Today we will talk about:

How you can cultivate athletes and coaches for Christ.

Happy Mother's Day and I want to extend my congratulations and gratitude to all our mothers out there.

I'd also like to talk a little bit about how my mom impacted me growing up.

My mom always would push me to be the best I could be in whatever I did:
  • In sports
  • In school
  • In doing chores around the house

Despite all this pushing, one of the things I am most grateful for is ...

How she nurtured and nourished me.

She nurtured and nourished me physically by cooking healthy meals and being in my presence.

She nurtured and nourished me emotionally by picking me up when I was down.

She nurtured and nourished me spiritually by sending me Bible verses.

You see ...

In the sporting world these days ...

We are always tempted to push ourselves and be on the go!

We push ourselves to our limits physically by going from practices to games to training to school to work to ... (you get the idea!).

We push ourselves to our limits emotionally by judging ourselves based on our performance, our stats, our wins, and our losses.

We push ourselves to our limits spiritually by trying to maintain our faith in a competitive environment that tempts us to neglect our faith.

With all this pushing ...

We can forget to nurture and nourish ourselves!

And when someone like our mothers pour into us, we remember to do it ourselves and are inspired to pour into the lives of others.

My encouragement to our mothers:

See how you can nurture and nourish your children or husbands.

Nurture and nourish them physically by cooking healthy meals, being in their presence, and/or driving them to events.

Nurture and nourish them emotionally by picking them up when they are down, telling them how much you love them, and/or letting them know you are proud of them.

Nurture and nourish them spiritually by sending them Bible verses, doing devotionals with them, talking about GOD around the dinner table, and/or praying with and for them.

My encouragement for athletes and husband coaches:

Let your mothers and/or wives how grateful for how they have poured into you, and be reminded to fill yourself up and extend it to others.

And one final word I'd like to leave you with:

As I reflect on my life, I realize one of the reasons I would push myself so hard was because I wanted my mom to be proud of me.

And when she would nurture and nourish me, this showed me that she truly did love me, cared for me, and was proud of me.

Athletes and coaches for Christ, have a Happy Mother's Day, and I send love, gratitude, peace, and blessings to you.

May GOD inspire YOU every step of your way,

Kyle
