Want to Win??? 3 Characteristics that separate CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS from mediocre teams
Are you part of a team???
What team are you part of???
Are you:
- On a sports team
- Part of an organization
- Involved in your school or work
- Living in a family or community
What team are you part of???
And do you not merely want to be part of a team,
But do you want to be part of an unstoppable dynasty that wins all the time?
I have had the privilege of being on many teams throughout my life:
- As an athlete
- As a coach
- Traveling across the country with various organizations
And through these experiences, I have identified …
3 Characteristics that Separate Championship Teams from Mediocre Teams
Ready???
Let’s dive in!!!
A few weeks ago, we got to watch the Super Bowl,
America’s most glorious holiday where the entire country gets to watch a clash between the top two teams in the NFL.
This year, the Kansas City Chiefs prevailed triumphant over the San Francisco 49ers.
What makes the Kansas City Chiefs so good???
What has made them the dynasty they are today, winning three out of the last five Super Bowls?
Well, the Chiefs possess these three characteristics, that all championship teams have:
Championship Teams Have a Clear Vision
In the book of Proverbs, there is a line that says:
“Without a vision, the people perish.”
And without a clear vision, your team will perish.
The Kansas City Chiefs had a clear vision:
- Before every season, their vision is to win the Super Bowl
- Before every game, their vision is to score more points and win
- Before every down, their vision is to run a certain run play, pass play, or defensive scheme
What is the clear vision for your team?
- For your school/work
- For your community
- For your family
On Championship Teams, Every Member Thrives in Their Personal Responsibilities
YOU have been blessed with a set of strengths nobody else possesses.
And when you can use them in a way that contributes to the overall upliftment of the team, you exponentially magnify the teams potential.
The players on the Chiefs had their personal positions where they could utilize their strengths to the overall success of the team:
- Patrick Mahomes would pass the ball … he didn’t need to block or tackle
- Travis Kelce would block and catch passes
- Kickers and punters boot the ball
- Every member had their position
What are your strengths???
And how are you using them to propel your team?
Championship Teams are Unified By a Greater Cause
The Kansas City Chiefs played not merely for themselves, but …
They played for a Greater Cause.
- They played for each other
- They played for their fans and family
- They played for the entire city of Kansas City
- Perhaps, they even played for a cause beyond that
What Greater Cause is your team unified by?
- What is the Greater Cause of your family?
- What is the Greater Cause of your school/work?
- What is the Greater Cause of your community/organization?
3 Characteristics that Separate Championship Teams from Mediocre Teams:
- Championship teams have a clear vision
- Every member thrives in their personal responsibilities
- Championship teams are unified by a Greater Cause
I wish you well on your journey to being part of a championship team, and I look forward to seeing you next week.
Inspiring YOU every step of your way,
Kyle
